A commission to produce a pair of tactile remembrance objects that work singly and together, Ribbons of Memory are carved, hand-built stoneware. Embedding shared memories and a mutual narrative into the material created evocative objects for two sons that will spark recollections, carry their childhood story forward for years to come, and strengthen their connection to both their mother and each other.

  • Emotional Force: They possess a powerful ability to evoke strong emotional responses.
  • Concreteness: Evocative objects are often tangible although the meanings they hold are abstract.
  • Intimacy and Fluidity: They establish close connections with their consumer and can shift in meaning and role as time passes.
  • Originality and Uniqueness: The emotional connection and meaning an object carries are unique to the individual.
