After a lot of work behind the scenes, the Studio Willis website is finally here. I wanted to mark the moment with a short post, and share a little about who I am and what this space is for.

I’m Emma, a designer-maker based in North Shropshire, on the Welsh border, working primarily with ceramics. My practice is concept-driven and material-led, creating abstract sculptural forms and evocative objects that explore memory, remembrance, and narrative. It is work that is deeply personal, rooted in the emotional resonance of material and the stories objects can carry.

This year also marks the completion of my degree, a milestone that feels significant and something I am proud of. The website brings together work spanning personal projects, academic practice, and commissions, and I hope it gives a clear sense of where my practice is and where it is heading.

A huge thank you to David at Studio Payne for building the website and designing my branding. He brought patience, care, and a real understanding of the work to the project, and I could not be happier with the result.

If you would like to find out more about the work, or discuss a commission, please do get in touch.
